Tellqvist assigned to Marlies

In conjunction with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Marlies, proud member of the American Hockey League, announced today that Maple Leaf goaltender Mikael Tellqvist has been assigned to the Marlies on a conditioning stint effective today.

Tellqvist, 27, appeared in 25 games with the Maple Leafs last season and had a record of 10-11-2 with two shutouts. He won one of two starts with the Maple Leafs in pre-season play this past September, making 33 saves in a 3-1 victory at Ottawa on September 20 before being defeated 5-3 by the Senators one week later at Air Canada Centre. A native of Sundbyberg, Sweden, Tellqvist made 26 saves in the loss.
