Hershey Bears News Release

It's been nearly a quarter century since HERSHEY began a season 4-0-0-0, and the BEARS can achieve the feat entirely on the road with a victory today at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. Fresh off a 6-3 victory at Syracuse Saturday night, HERSHEY returns to Ontario today for the second game in three days in the province. The BEARS downed the Hamilton Bulldogs Friday night 3-2 at Copps Coliseum. With a win today, HERSHEY would be off to the club's best start since 1982, when the team lept out to a 6-0-0-0 start.

HERSHEY will play today without the services of Dave Steckel. The centerman returned home after suffering a forearm injury late in the game Saturday in Syracuse. Sasha Pokulok also left Saturday's game win concussion-like symptoms, and will not play Sunday. The BEARS will again turn to Frederic Cassivi in goal against the Marlies. Cassivi is slated to make his third start of the season, winning each of his first two decisions.

The Marlies enter the game at 1-2-0-0, winning their season opener 6-0 over Syracuse before dropping a 5-2 decision to Manitoba last Sunday and a 4-2 defeat Friday against Grand Rapids. Today's game at Ricoh Coliseum is HERSHEY'S only visit of the season to Ontario's largest city. Toronto will travel to play HERSHEY at GIANT Center December 16.

Today's game broadcast is available through Pennlive.com, B2 Networks via HersheyBears.com and the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM, 1490-AM and 960-AM). John Walton has the call of the game from Toronto beginning with the pre-game show at 3:40 p.m.
