Team Returns to Bakersfield for 5:00 Sunday Game Against Long Beach

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League will return from a three-game set in Boise, Idaho to host the Long Beach Ice Dogs in a Sunday match starting at 5:00 pm at Centennial Garden this weekend. Doors open at 4:00 pm.

Everyone in attendance will receive a Condors Cheer Sign sponsored by the Bakersfield Californian, 101.5 KGFM and HealthSouth. The signs feature a full-color shot of netminder Kevin St. Pierre, who has won four WCHL Goaltender of the Week Awards and twice has been selected by the fans as the Kern Trophies Condor of the Month. The cheer sign will also appear in the Sunday edition of the Bakersfield Californian.

After the Condors match with the Ice Dogs, fans are invited to stick around for a Skate with the Condors on the Garden ice. The skate is free to everyone in attendance at the game. Anyone who doesn't bring their own skates to the game may rent skates for just $3 (limited supply available).

Prior to each Sunday home game, there is a Pre-Game Fiesta on the Garden Plaza. This Sunday's Fiesta starts at 4:00 pm. There will be entertainment, including two bounce houses and a magician.

The evening is also a Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge (T.H.I.N.K.) Night. Select area students will be attending the game for free to reward them for their academic achievements. The T.H.I.N.K program is sponsored by 101.5 KGFM, ARRC Technology, and Paramount Farms.

Patrons may receive $2.00 of regular admission by presenting the Post-it coupon found on the front of Friday morning's Bakersfield Californian. Fans may also use their Bakersfield Californian Press Pass at this game to receive $2 off the price of regular admission. Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.

On Friday and Saturday night the Condors are in Boise, Idaho as the Steelheads host the Condors. Both games can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230 starting at 6:00 PST.

Condors droppings: The December website auction is winding down. One lucky fan will have the opportunity to represent the Condors fans and be immortalized on a Condors trading card in the upcoming team set. They also receive four tickets to the game on January 24th, which is Team Set Giveaway Night, and an autographed copy of the set. Log on to www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place your bid. All proceeds go towards the American Red Cross - Kern County Chapter.

The Condors Closet Retail Outlet, located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue across from Centennial Garden, will be open Christmas Eve from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm for all your last minute Christmas shopping needs. The Closet will be closed on Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.
