Taylor Promoted, Hogben Returns to Hawks

South Bend, IN - In conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the South Bend Silver Hawks have announced that relief pitcher Dan Taylor has been promoted to high-A Visalia. Returning to South Bend to take his roster spot is RHP Kable Hogben.

Taylor has put up phenomenal numbers out of the South Bend bullpen this season, going 3-2 with a 1.97 ERA in 21 appearances (one start). The lefty from Central Michigan University struck out 54 batters and walked just seven in 45.2 innings on the mound for the Silver Hawks in 2011.

Hogben was with the Silver Hawks to start the season, tossing 8.2 innings with a 3.12 ERA and eight strikeouts. After spending time in extended spring training, the righty from Australia has dominated the Northwest League, tossing 17.0 innings of one-run ball with 27 strikeouts for the Yakima Bears.

The South Bend roster currently stands at 25 active players, plus one on the disabled list.
