Sgt. Slaughter to Help Timber Rattlers Celebrate Military

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will have a tag-team partner when they celebrate Military Appreciation Night at Time Warner Cable Field on Thursday, July 14. WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter will be on hand to honor members of the United States military before and during the game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Fans presenting a military ID will receive free admission to Thursday's game, which is a WIXX Thirsty Thursday with 22 ounce sodas and 16 ounce beers for just $2. Game time is 7:05pm.

Sgt. Slaughter will throw out a first pitch, be available for pictures and autographs during the game, and lead the seventh inning stretch. The National Guard will have a display of military vehicles in the parking lot, too.

The Timber Rattlers will wear patriotic red, white, and blue baseball caps during Thursday's game. The caps are up for bid during a silent auction through the seventh inning of the game. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Disabled American Veterans.

To add one more star to an evening of stars and stripes at Time Warner Cable Field, the first 500 fans will receive an Asdrubal Cabrera magnet from Lamers Bus Lines. Cabrera, a member of the Timber Rattlers in 2005, was recently selected to play in his first Major League All-Star Game.
