EASTLAKE, OH - The Lake County Captains (7-11, 35-52) plated four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning off Lansing Lugnut (10-8, 48-37) reliever Dayton Marze, avoiding the three-game sweep 6-4 on Monday night at Classic Park.

Marze (Loss, 3-4) allowed the first seven batters to reach base in the decisive seventh inning, with a two-run single by clean-up batter Jesus Aguilar to tie the game, and a go-ahead RBI single by Giovanny Urshela to give the Captains' the win.

The Captains' bullpen held the Lugnuts scoreless over the final five innings of the game, with reliever Kyle Petter (Win, 1-2) shutting the door in the final two innings.

The offense for Lansing left the bases loaded in two different innings, and were only able to get one run on a bases-loaded opportunity in the first. Eli Boike and Jake Marisnick led the charge with 1-for-3 nights, and Bryson Namba hit his fifth home run of the year.

The Lugnuts will send right-hander Marcus Walden (3-2, 3.60) to start the series against the Kane County Cougars righty Leondy Perez (2-9, 4.16) on Wednesday at Kane County.

Lansing will be back in action at Cooley Law School Stadium on Wednesday, July 20, at 12:05 p.m., taking on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on a Summer Fun Day. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
