FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps drilled the Great Lakes Loons, 8-1, Monday at Dow Diamond. Fort Wayne pounded out 14 hits including back-to-back homers by B.J. Guinn and Chris Bisson while the bullpen fired four scoreless innings.

In the first, the TinCaps put together a two-out rally against All-Star RHP Garrett Gould. Luis Domoromo singled and scored when Connor Powers doubled off the wall in left-center to make it 1-0.

In the fifth, the TinCaps pounced on fielding miscues by the Loons. Guinn led off with a single and went to second on an error. Bisson hit a hard grounder to first which was misplayed, allowing Guinn to score. Two batters later, Rymer Liriano stroked an RBI single to right making it 3-0.

Domoromo doubled to put runners at second and third, then the Loons intentionally walked Powers to load the bases. Oscar Garcia followed with a smash to first which went off the first baseman's glove for a two-run double, ballooning the margin to 5-0.

The Loons scored their only run in the fifth on a two-out RBI double by Leon Landry.

Guinn and Bisson hit consecutive home runs in the sixth; Guinn's landed just to the left of center field and was his first career round-tripper. Bisson's was a no-doubter that easily cleared the wall in right field. An inning later, Tyler Stubblefield's sacrifice fly made it 8-1.

Powers went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, raising his batting average to .326.

RHP Keyvius Sampson (8-2) scattered five hits over five innings, allowing one run to pick up the win. RHPs Robert Lara, Adam Dominick and Chris Franklin combined to work four scoreless innings in relief. Loons RHP Garrett Gould had his worst start of the year, giving up five runs in 4.1 innings to fall to 9-4.

The TinCaps improved to 7-11 in the half, 37-50 for the season. Great Lakes dipped to 10-8 since the all-star break, 49-38 for the year.

The TinCaps have Tuesday off, then take on the Burlington Bees (Class-A Oakland Athletics) beginning Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Dow Diamond. Fort Wayne LHP Mark Hardy (5-7) goes to the mound against Bees RHP Blake Hassebrock (4-5).
