T-Bones Win Fourth Straight

WICHITA, Kansas - The Kansas City T-Bones, got their third home run of the night, in the seventh inning, and held on to a 6-5 win, Friday night against Wichita.

Kansas City starting pitcher Bobby Doran (7-1) pitched six innings, and finished with three shutout innings. In total, Doran allowed five runs on eight hits. T-Bones relievers Derek Loera, Aaron Baker and Fernando Hernandez each pitched scoreless innings, with Hernandez earning his eighth save of the season.

The T-Bones started the scoring in the first inning, when Adam Bailey drove in Nate Tenbrink from third on a fielders choice. The T-Bones scored four runs in the third inning, courtesy of two separate, two-run home runs, from Jake Blackwood and Robby Kuzdale. Blackwood and Kuzdale each have six home runs, which leads the team.

The game-winning hit came in the seventh inning, when Adam Bailey connected on his fourth home run of the season, and gave Kansas City a 6-5 lead.

Wichita starting pitcher Omar Bencomo, allowed five runs over five innings. Wichita reliever Daniel Bennett (0-5) took the loss after surrendering the go-ahead home run in the seventh inning.

The T-Bones (25-17), continue the eight-game road-trip, Saturday night at 7:05pm against Wichita (25-21) at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
