Amarillo ThunderHeads News Release
The ThunderHeads battled thunder heads during the mid week series with Joplin. Rain washed out the games Monday and Tuesday before Amarillo taking an 8-6 win in game one of a planned double header Wednesday night. Game two would never happen as over two inches of rain pounded the Amarillo area Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
With standing water on the field a call was made to the West Texas A&M athletic department who kindly allowed the ThunderHeads and Blasters to pick up and move the series to Canyon. Amarillo took a 6-3 decision in game one. Game two was postponed with the teams knotted at 4 in the bottom of the 6th inning due to storms. The game will be wrapped up on the upcoming road trip to Joplin.
The ThunderHeads return to action Tuesday July 20th when the Grand Prairie Air Hogs return to Amarillo. First pitch is 7:05. For tickets contact 806-242-1PRO.
