T-Bones Drop Fourth Straight

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones dropped their fourth consecutive game 9-0, to the hands of Sioux City on Wednesday evening at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. .

Fernando Hernandez (0-1) got the starting nod for Kansas City and Sioux City struck first, with four runs in the top of the third inning. The Explorers with one out, got three consecutive hits, including a two- run double from Michael Lang to give Sioux City a 2-0 lead. Two batters later, Brock Kjeldgaard connected on his first home run of the season to straight-away centerfield capping off a four-run inning.

The Explorers added to their lead in the fifth inning, with a solo home run from Michael Lang extending the lead to 5-0.

Hernandez pitched five innings and allowed five runs on eight hits.

Sioux City pounded out four more runs in the eighth inning off T-Bones relievers Jared Messer and Derek Loera to cap off the scoring at 9-0.

Nate Tenbrink had two of the T-Bones three hits in the loss.

Explorer starting pitcher Patrick Johnson (1-0) picked up the win with six shutout innings limiting Kansas City to just three hits.
