RailCats Make Outfield Moves

LINCOLN, NE - The Gary South Shore RailCats have activated OF Zachary Zdanowicz off of the inactive list. To make room for Zdanowicz the RailCats placed OF Carlton Salters on irrevocable waivers.

The RailCats signed Zdanowicz on 4/6 after the Albuquerque, New Mexico native played in 11 games for the Fort Worth Cats of the United League. In Fort Worth he hit .333 going 8 for 24 with five RBI. Zdanowicz played three seasons at Henderson State University in Arkansas, where as a senior in 2013 he hit .397 with two homeruns and 21 RBI in 40 games.

Salters, a former SEC football player at the University of Arkansas made the roster out of spring training as a non-roster invitee after working out for the RailCats at several tryouts over the last two years. Salters had a sac fly RBI last night in the 9th as the South Shore comeback fell one run short against Lincoln. The Florida native was 2 for 8 in six games with the RailCats with one stolen base and an RBI.

The RailCats continue their four game road trip with the final game of the series in Lincoln against the Saltdogs. The first pitch from Haymarket Park is scheduled for 6:35pm. The game can be heard on the radio on 95.9 WEFM in NWI and online at RailCatsbaseball.com. The club returns home on Friday to face the Kansas City T-Bones at 7:10pm at US Steel Yard.
