
Syracuse Chiefs Will Play as the "Devices" on Salute to the Brannock Device(r) Night

SYRACUSE, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs will take the field as the "Devices" for the game on Thursday, May 31st at NBT Bank Stadium. The "Devices" name is a tribute to the Brannock Device®, which was invented in Syracuse, NY.
Salute to the Brannock Device® Night, presented by SOS Plus, is a part of the Chiefs Season of CNY. Charles F. Brannock invented the Brannock Device® and started the Brannock Device® Company in the 1920s. The Brannock Device Company is still located in Syracuse, NY today.
Similar to the Salt Potatoes promotion last season, the Chiefs will play as the "Devices" for one night. The "Devices" will wear specialty on-field jerseys during the game on May 31st. Jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money for Operation Walk during and after the game. The players will also wear specialty "Devices" baseball caps on the field that night. "Devices" caps and t-shirts will be available for sale in the Whistlestop Souvenir Store and online at syracusechiefs.milbstore.com. "Devices" t-shirts and adjustable caps are on sale now, fitted on-field caps will go on sale Thursday, May 31st.
"Devices" apparel and caps will feature a brand new logo, named Chuck. Chuck, is a Brannock Device® named after his creator, Charles F. Brannock.
"Becoming the 'Devices' for one night helps us introduce Central New York to the rest of the world," said Jason Smorol, general manager. "This is the kind of fun, unique, interactive promotion that only happens in Chiefsville!"
Salute to the Brannock Device® Night is a $1 Thursday. Hofmann hot dogs are $1, fountain Coca-Cola products are $1, a select souvenir is $1 and draft Labatt, Coors, Saranac beers & 1911 hard ciders are all $2. Five lucky fans will also have the opportunity to win a commemorative Chiefs Brannock Device® while at the game that evening.
