Pigs Open Four-Game Road Trip Tonight

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs hit the road for four games against their IL-North rival Rochester Red Wings beginning tonight at 7:05 p.m.

Brandon Leibrandt will make his second consecutive appearance as a starter tonight for the Pigs after appearing exclusively out of the bullpen to earlier this season. He will be opposed by right-hander Aaron Slegers for Rochester. Tonight's starting pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle. Learn more at affc.com.

Leibrandt takes the ball for the IronPigs in the first of four at Frontier Field. Leibrandt is making his second consecutive start for Lehigh Valley and is 1-0 on the year. He has yet to allow a run in 14 innings of work this season.

Slegers has not lost a game in the IL since June of last season. The Twins Minor League Pitcher of the Year has gone 13-0 in 18 starts since then. This is his third start against the IronPigs, against whom he is 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA. A former fifth-round pick of the Twins out of the university of Indiana, Slegers made his Major League debut in August of last year.

LAST GAME: Trailing 5-0 Wednesday, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs launched five home runs to rally for an 8-6 victory over the Syracuse Chiefs. Dylan Cozens set a Pigs franchise record with three home runs in the game. Pedro Beato (6) closed out the ballgame and tied Luis Garcia for the IronPigs' all-time saves lead (39).

Cozens sparked the Pigs rally in the bottom of the second. Leading off, Cozens lined an opposite field home run to put Lehigh Valley on the board. One pitch later, Joey Meneses belted his first career Triple-A home run into the Pig Pen and the deficit was down to three.

Cole Irvin allowed five runs in the first two frames but was dominant in his final five innings. Irvin did not earn a decision, but went a his seven innings of work were a season high for the Pigs.

The Pigs return home on Monday to open a seven-game homestand with a 7:05 p.m. contest against the Pawtucket Red Sox.
