Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The RailRiders pulled out a 6-4 win over the Bats on Tuesday night at PNC Field. The Bats rallied from a four-run deficit only to see the RailRiders plate the deciding runs on an eighth-inning Ali Castillo double.

MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD: Starter Esmil Rogers fired five scoreless innings in his longest outing of the year by innings. He faced three over the minimum while allowing two hits, both singles, and two walks. He struck out four and saw 46 of his 67 (69%) pitches go for strikes. His prior longest 2015 outing saw him last 4.2 innings versus Boston on April 10. He took the loss for the Yankees in that 19-inning marathon and logged a season-high 81 pitches.

ON A ROLL: Kyle Roller slugged his team-leading 12th home run on a 2-for-4 night with a pair of RBIs. He has homered in three straight games and owns eight RBIs in his last four games played. Only Charlotte's Matt Davidson, who plays at the power-enhancing BB&T Ballpark, has more home runs than Roller in the IL. Ten of Davidson's 13 were hit in Charlotte. Five of Roller's homers and 20 of his team-best 43 RBIs have come in 21 games played this month.

POWER SURGE: The RailRiders have homered in a season-best four straight games. Only three IL teams have bashed more June homers than SWB (17): Charlotte (23), Pawtucket (20) and Durham (19). The RailRiders are an IL-best 16-6 (.727) in June.

STREAKING STROKE: Despite a nearly week-long layoff in the wake of being hit in the head with a fastball, Austin Romine has assembled an 11-game hitting streak. He has hit .378 (17-for-45) over his run with 12 RBIs. Four of his five home runs and 21 of his 29 RBIs have come on the road, but his 4-for-4 effort last night with a pair of doubles has lifted his home contact clip (.270) to within a point of his road number (.271). Romine has tied Rob Refsnyder's 11-game run from May 10-21 as the longest by a 2015 RailRider. Only Columbus' Jose Ramirez at 14 games owns a longer active hitting streak in the IL.

I AM THE LAW: Aaron Judge collected his first Triple-A RBI in his second career game. He plated Refsnyder with a first-inning sac fly.

HIGH NOONAN: Nick Noonan went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a walk. In 15 games played this month, he has hit .382/.435/.527/.963. He ranks among the IL's best in June in average (1st), OBP (4th), SLG (8th) and OPS (3rd).

TRIPLE THREAT: Ben Gamel stands tied with Indianapolis' Alen Hanson for the league lead in triples. He matches or exceeds the triple totals of four IL teams: Buffalo (8), Norfolk (7), Lehigh Valley (6) and Pawtucket (6).

ROAD WARRIORS: The RailRiders stand three games below .500 at PNC Field (18-21) and 14 games over on the road (24-10). The team has hit .281 on the road compared to a .258 mark at home. On the road, SWB has scored 178 runs in 34 games (5.2/game). At home, the squad has plated 147 runs in 39 games (3.8/game). The pitching has performed better at home (3.29 ERA) than on the road (3.45 ERA). No IL team has a better road winning percentage than the RailRiders (.706), who have won 17 of 20 away from PNC Field.

TOUGH TIMES: Rob Refsnyder went 0-for-4 with a bruise, a steal and a run scored. Ten days ago, Refsnyder was hitting .284. He has since gone into a 5-for-32 (.156) funk that has dipped his contact clip to .268, the lowest it has been since he finished play at Charlotte on May 2 at .267.
