Svendsen Signed to AHL Contract

Rockford, Ill- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced Tuesday that the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs have signed forward Brandon Svendsen to a one-year AHL contract.

The Maplewood, Minn. native has played in seven games for Rockford in 2011-12 notching one goal and six penalty minutes. Svendsen has also appeared in five games with the Binghamton Senators this season, tallying one assist.

Before joining the IceHogs, the winger led the Kalamzoo Wings of the ECHL with 35 points (13g-22a) in 28 games. Svendsen was with Rockford during training camp on a try-out before going to Kalamazoo to start the season.

An alumnus of Bowling Green State University, Svendsen has appeared in 144 AHL games since 2009-10, compiling 15g-23a-38pts as a member of the Senators, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and IceHogs.
