Bridgeport Islanders News Release

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Lukas Sutter has been reassigned by the New York Islanders to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Sutter, 21, has played in 40 games for the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL this season, posting two goals and eight assists to go along with 156 penalty minutes. Sutter was named to the ECHL All-Star Classic earlier this month and recorded two assists in the game.

The Lethbridge, Alta., native was a seventh round draft pick (200th overall) in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Islanders. The Winnipeg Jets originally selected Sutter in the second round (39th overall) back in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-foot tall Sutter spent the previous five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Saskatoon Blades and the Red Deer Rebels. He has yet to make his American Hockey League debut.
