Springfield Falcons News Release

Hartford, Conn. - The Springfield Falcons were defeated by the Hartford Wolf Pack, 3-1, tonight at the XL Center.

The loss puts the Falcons on a six-game losing streak and drops the team to 26-15-4-0 on the season. The Falcons are also 2-2-1-0 in the 10-game season series with the Wolf Pack.

Falcons goaltender Scott Munroe turned away 30 of 32 shots, while his Wolf Pack counterpart Mackenzie Skapski stopped 22 of 23 in victory. Springfield was unable to convert on four power play opportunities. The penalty kill unit shut down three of four Hartford man-advantages.

The Wolf Pack attacked on the power play and took an early 1-0 lead over the Falcons in the first period. Just 3:15 in, Danny Kristo fired a shot that missed wide and ricocheted off the end boards. Chris Mueller grabbed the rebound and a quick pass to Marek Hrivik in the slot put Hartford on the board.

The Falcons responded at the 7:38 mark of the second period, but the Wolf Pack took back the lead before the second intermission. Josh Anderson threw a cross-crease pass to Marko Dano, who notched his ninth goal of the season. Luke Adam earned credit for the secondary assist.

With 4:49 remaining in the middle frame, Munroe made the save on Kristo's shot from the slot, but the puck trickled through and across the goal line to give the Wolf Pack a 2-1 lead.

Joey Crabb added an empty net goal at the end of the third to down the Falcons, 3-1.

The Falcons are back in action when they travel to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Feb. 3 at 7:05 p.m.
