RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Flying Squirrels ran their win-streak to six games and completed a three-game sweep of the Bowie Baysox with a 4-1 triumph in front of 6,419 at The Diamond on Sunday afternoon.

Scoreless into the third inning, the Flying Squirrels struck first with the game's first run off Bowie starter Ryohei Tanaka (2-2). Nick Noonan gave Richmond the lead with a solo-home run to right field, his first of the season.

The lead expanded when the Squirrels erupted for three additional runs off Tanaka in the fourth. Tanaka sparked the inning when he walked Brandon Crawford to start the frame. A batter later, Roger Kieschnick singled to put runners at the corners with one out. Clay Timpner then drilled a two-run double to the alley in right-center field, scoring both runners and putting Richmond in front, 3-0. An out later, Tyler La Torre made it 4-0 with a line-drive single to center field to score Timpner.

Meanwhile, Richmond starter Daryl Maday (4-0) continued his early-season brilliance. He kept Bowie at bay through the first five innings, scattering seven hits in the process. The Baysox did pick up their first run against Maday in the sixth inning, when Miguel Abreu brought in Brandon Waring with an RBI ground-out to cut Richmond's lead to 4-1. Maday departed to the victory following the inning, having allowed just the lone run on nine hits. The victory ran Maday's personal win-streak to four.

The Flying Squirrels' bullpen was phenomenal behind Maday, as left-hander Andy Sisco and right-hander Tony Pena Jr. combined for three scoreless innings. Sisco fired two of those innings, striking out four in the process and Pena Jr. earned his third save of the season by handling the ninth including two strikeouts.

Richmond did not strand a single base runner in the ballgame, establishing a franchise record that will never be broken.

The Flying Squirrels open a four-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at 7:05 PM on Monday night at The Diamond. RHP David Mixon (2-1, 2.66) will make the start for Richmond against RHP Tim Alderson (2-0, 5.49) for Altoona.
