TODAY'S STARTER: Right-hander Daryl Maday gets the start in game three of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Got the win in his third straight start in game two of a double header at New Britain on 4/27...Allowed one run on three hits in 5 2/3 innings...Struck out two batters and walked two...Gave up a run with one out in the bottom of the first inning ending a streak of 17 scoreless innings...Two of the three hits he allowed came in the first inning...Retired 13 of the next 14 batters he faced after walking Joe Benson leading off the bottom of the second...Only other hit allowed came one a two-out double from Steve Singleton in the bottom of the sixth (final batter he faced)...Retired the leadoff batter in four of his six innings on the mound...Threw approximately 70 pitches, 43 strikes...Recorded nine ground outs, four fly outs, and two strike outs...Has allowed just one run since the second inning of his start at Bowie on 4/10 (22 1/3 innings)...Has won three straight decisions for the first time since winning four in-a-row 8/9/08-8/25/08.
Right-hander Ryhoei Tanaka gets the nod in the finale of the series for the Baysox...Took the loss in his last start at Erie after allowing a season-high five runs on a season-high six hits in 5 1/3 innings...Gave up a pair of home runs...Had allowed five runs in his previous 17 1/3 innings...Has allowed 21 hits in 22 2/3 innings of work...Has pitched into the sixth inning in all four of his outings this season...Spent all of 2009 with Double-A BOW in his first pro season in the United States...Went 4-4 with a 3.00 ERA in 21G/12GS...Began the season in the bullpen and worked 12 scoreless innings before being moved to the rotation 7/4/09 @ ALT...Went 4-4 with a 3.63 ERA in 12GS...Was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 13 appearances out of the bullpen...3SV/3SVO...Native of Ishikawa, Japan.

WINNING WAYS: The Flying Squirrels are currently in the midst of a season-long five-game winning streak...The Flying Squirrels have outscored the Rock Cats and Baysox 18-8 over the last five games and have outhit New Britain and Bowie 41-20...The team is 11-2 when it outhits its opponent and is 0-5 when being outhit...The Flying Squirrels finished the month of April with a 12-9 record.
