Suns Set for Upcoming Homestand

The Hagerstown Suns welcome in the Greensboro Grasshoppers for a five-game homestand starting on August 12th at Municipal Stadium. The series includes a Thirsty Thursday, Summer Reader Night and two fireworks shows.

The homestand opens with Feed Your Face/Thirsty Thursday on August 12th presented by Bob Rocks 101.5 FM with the game beginning at 7:05 p.m. Municipal Stadium gates open at 6:00 p.m. For as low as $10 per ticket, fans will receive all-you-can-eat select food items from the concession stands as well as domestic drafts at $1.25 each.

Also for Thursday's contest, the first 200 fans in attendance will receive goodie bags, courtesy of Antietam Cable Television and the Showtime Networks.

The game on Friday, August 13th will be jam-packed with events. It is the final installment of the Drug Free Parent-Kid Challenge, where parent-kid teams can take a quiz about drug prevention to win a Suns T-shirt and hat, presented by Drug Free Washington County. Fireworks will commence after the game, presented by nTelos and WAYZ 104.7 FM.

Friday is also Summer Reader Night, where students who participated in the Suns summer reader program can enter using the ticket they received. Washington County students participating in the program received one free ticket to the game, while participants from surrounding areas received a voucher which can be redeemed for a free ticket at the Suns box office. Each student also received a voucher good to buy up to four additional general admission tickets for their families for $6 per ticket.

The Municipal Stadium gates will open early for the game on Saturday, August 14th. The stadium opens at 4:00 p.m. to allow fans to watch the Suns batting practice before the 7:05 p.m. game. The first 750 fans in attendance will receive pint glasses, plus, fireworks will be after the contest, sponsored by Allstate. Fans that are signed up for Saturday night's All-You-Can-Eat plan or a picnic ticket will have food served beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Suns will have a Sunday afternoon matinee game at 2:05 p.m. with gates opening at 1:00 p.m. Before the game starts, fans are invited to a story reading by a Suns player. After the contest ends, kids can run the bases.

The homestand will conclude with a Monday night game at 7:05 p.m. Fans are invited to watch batting practice as the gates will open at 4:00 p.m.

Advance VIP tickets are $9, reserved grandstand seats are $8 and general admission tickets will be $7. Tickets purchased the day of the game are increased by one dollar. Thirsty Thursday tickets are $13 for VIP, $11 for reserved grandstand and $10 for general admission.
