JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to today's game against the Mobile BayBears at Bragan Field.

Left-handed relief pitcher Edgar Olmos has promoted from the Suns to the major league Miami Marlins roster, and will join the big league club in Philadelphia for the opening game of their series against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Olmos pitched in 19 games in relief for the Suns, compiling a 4-2 record with a 1.27 ERA in 28 and a third innings on the mound. He struck out 20 batters compared to 10 walks, and opponents his .248 off of Olmos in 2013.

Olmos becomes the third member of the 2013 Suns to earn a call-up from Jacksonville to the big leagues, joining past Jacksonville teammates Marcell Ozuna and Derek Dietrich with the Marlins. Olmos, a native of Van Nuys, Calif., was selected by the Marlins in the third round of the 2009 draft out of Birmingham (Calif.) High School.

In a corresponding move, right-handed relief pitcher Jordan Conley has been transferred from Triple-A New Orleans to Jacksonville. Conley pitched in two games with the Zephyrs in relief, earning a win and he allowed one earned run during his three innings on the mound. Conley pitched earlier this season with the Suns, with no record and a 6.00 ERA in five relief appearances.
