Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro, in preparation for the 2011 CHL Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Playoffs, today announced the team's finalized playoff roster.
The CHL deadline for finalized playoff rosters was today at 12:00pm (Central time).
The team's lone addition to its roster for the playoffs is forward Sean Muncy.
Muncy, 26, split the 2010-11 regular season with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, Missouri Mavericks and Texas Brahmas, amassing 16 goals, 22 assists and 60 penalty minutes (PIM) in 66 total contests.
The Chesterfield, Missouri, native tallied 31 points (14g/17a) in 37 games with Rio Grande Valley before being traded to Missouri. Muncy appeared in six games with the Mavericks before again being dealt, this time to the Brahmas.
Muncy also appeared in one American Hockey League (AHL) contest this season with the Houston Aeros.
The 6-foot, 185-pound forward played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Brown University before turning pro with the Killer Bees last season.
In 127 career CHL regular season games, Muncy has recorded 30 goals, 55 assists, 106 PIM and a plus-5 rating.
Arizona can also insert an emergency goaltender to its lineup and will have the opportunity to add up to two amateur players to the roster during the postseason.
Players left off the team's playoff roster include goaltender Levente Szuper, forward Karl Sellan and defensemen Jim Driscoll and Clayton Barthel, all of whom closed out the regular season on injured reserve.
Arizona opens their best-of-5 conference quarterfinals playoff series against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday, April 1 at 5:05pm (Arizona time) at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana. Listen to the game live online at www.cattlecountryradio.com and on KDDL 'Cattle Country' 94.3FM, the Official Radio Home of Arizona Sundogs Hockey.
Tickets for the first round of the playoffs start at just $12 and can be purchased by phone at 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), online at www.GetTix.net and in person at the Tim's Toyota Center Box Office beginning tomorrow at 10:00am.
