Rapid City Rush News Release
Back on Top - For the second consecutive season, the Rush earned the regular season conference crown in the final weekend of the year. On Saturday, Rapid City picked up 5-2 win over the Arizona Sundogs in the last game of the regular season to finish with a 40-22-4 (84pts.) record and #1 in the conference. The Rush are just one of three teams (Allen & Colorado) to reach 40 total wins. The Rush made a much-needed late charge to claim the conference title, winning seven of their final eight games.
"Batman" on Fire - Rush goaltender Danny Battochio enters the playoffs on a red-hot run. Over his last seven games, the netminder sports a 6-0-0 record with a 1.85 goals against average and .947 save percentage. The second-year pro finished the 2010-11 regular season with 30 wins, making him the only goaltender in the CHL to reach that plateau this year.
Against the Gems - The Rush and Gems squared off just twice during the 2010-11 regular season, with Rapid City earning 7-5 and 5-2 wins. Colt King leads the Rush with 6 points (1g, 5a) in the two contests.
