Tulsa Oilers News Release
0-0: The Tulsa Oilers having finished in third place of the Berry conference, just one point out of second, now gear up for an opening round playoff series against the Mississippi RiverKings. The opening round is best-of-five. All playoff games can be accessed via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and CHL TV.
Schedule: Game one: Thursday March 31 at Tulsa 7:05 p.m. Game two: Friday April 1 at Tulsa 7:35 p.m. Game three: Sunday April 3 at Mississippi 5:05 p.m. Game four: Tuesday April 5 at Mississippi 7:05 p.m.* Game five: Saturday April 9 at Tulsa 7:35 p.m.* *if necessary all times Central
Original 6: Although the Oilers and RiverKings are two of the original six franchises when the CHL resumed in 1992 (Mississippi was then known as the Memphis RiverKings) this is the first time the two teams have met in the playoffs.
7 Straight: The Oilers enter the playoffs having earned points in their final seven games of the regular season. They wound up with 5-3 and 4-2 wins over Wichita and a 5-4 overtime loss to Allen.
Back 40: Jack Combs became the first Oiler to have a 40 goal season since Todd Marcellus in 2002-03. Chad Costello led the team in scoring with 84 points on 34 goals and 50 assists in spite of missing 12 games in the regular season, and spent considerable time in the American Hockey League. Goaltender Ian Keserich led the team with 22 wins and didn't lose in regulation time since January 2nd.
