Sundogs Add Size to Lineup in 6-foot-6 Svangstu

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club of the Central Hockey League announced that it has signed 6-foot-6, 270-pound Lee Svangstu.

Svangstu, 31, joins the Arizona Sundogs after skating with the team during its 2007 Training Camp. He last played professionally in 2001-02 during a two-game stint with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

In 185 pro games, the Crosby, North Dakota native has tallied 31 goals, 33 assists and 796 penalty minutes.

Svangstu and Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro played together as linemates while with the Idaho Steelheads of the WCHL in 1997-98. In 51 games that season, Svangstu collected career-highs in goals (21), assists (19), points (40) and penalty minutes (312).

The Arizona Sundogs carry a five-game winning streak into Hidalgo, Texas tonight as they take on the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Game time is set for 6:35pm (Arizona time). The game can be heard via tape-delay beginning at 7:00pm (Arizona time) on 96.7 FM The Wolf, the Official Broadcast Home of the Arizona Sundogs.
