Bucks Meet Brahmas Tonight For First Time Since \'06

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will play the the Texas Brahmas for the first time in nearly two years tonight at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Game time is set for 7:05pm. This is the first meeting between the Bucks and the then Fort Worth Brahmas since February 10, 2006, when Laredo won on the road 4-1.

The Bucks will look to win their second game in a row, and improve on their CHL-leading point total of 33.

The Bucks (7-2-1 on the road) are coming off of a 2-1 overtime win over Odessa on Sunday at the LEC. Chris Korchinski scored just 58 seconds into the extra session to give the Bucks the win. Rookie goaltender Kevin Beech stayed undefeated in net (6-0), as he set aside 31 of the 32 Jackalopes shots. The only goal Beech surrendered was a penalty shot from the league's second leading scorer, Dominic Leveille.

Jeff Bes continues to lead the CHL in scoring with 35 points (14-21=35), while Chris Korchinski is tied for ninth in the league with 25 points (10-15=25). Bes has been held pointless in two straight games for the first time this season.

Beech, who will get the start in net tonight, leads the league with a 1.61 goals against average, and a .932 save percentage to go along with his 6-0 record.

The Brahmas come into tonight looking to win their fourth straight game. Texas beat Austin 4-1 on Tuesday night, with Tyler Sworchinski netting two goals, with Anders Strome and Robin Big Snake handing out two assists apiece. Jim Healey picked up his first win of the season in net, stopping 21 of 22 Ice Bat Shots.

The Brahmas (7-3 at home) are led in scoring by Scott Sheppard (13-8=21), Grant Jacobson (3-16=19), and Blair Manning 4-14=18).

10 of the 11 Texas wins in net have been thanks to David Cacciola, who is 10-5 with a 3.19 goals against average, and a .902 save percentage.

After tonight's game the Bucks will play in Corpus Christi Saturday night looking to avenge last weeks loss.

**Bucks Notes**

*due to a concert at the LEC the Bucks were unable to practice Wednesday, but instead participated in a spin class.

*James Hiebert is expected to be in the line-up against the Brahmas

*Matt Summers has been placed on the 14-day injured reserve

*Three of the Bucks four regulation losses have come to Northern Conference teams. The Bucks are 0-3 against non-conference opponents.

*The Bucks are 6-3-1 in one-goal games, including 3-0 in overtime.

*When the Bucks lead after two periods ths season they are 11-1-1, when they trail after two periods they are 1-3.

*Rane Carnegie has scored at least a point in 13 of the Bucks 21 games this season, including scoring at least a point in five out of the last six contests.
