BROOKLYN, N.Y. - RHP Tyler Stuart was superb as he propelled the Brooklyn Cyclones to a 5-1 victory over the Hudson Valley Renegades on Thursday night at Maimonides Park.

The Kankakee, Illinois native tossed 7.2 innings - the most by a 'Clones pitcher this year - while striking out a career high 11 batters. The only run he allowed was a solo shot in the top of the second off the bat of Renegades C Antonio Gómez.

The Brooklyn bats did all of their scoring in the bottom of the fourth. Trailing 1-0 with the bases loaded and two outs, LF Abraham Almonte looped a single into shallow left field to score two and hand Brooklyn the lead.

Moments later, Renegades RHP Luis Velasquez issued a wild pitch with men on second and third, which allowed LF Alex Ramírez to come home and score, pushing the Brooklyn lead to 3-1.

From there, 3B William Lugo dinged a two-run blast off the video board to score himself and Almonte to cap the five-run frame.

With the win, the Cyclones closed out the first half with a record of 28-37.
