South Carolina Stingrays News Release


The Week That Was: The Stingrays played four games last week including three games in three nights over the weekend.

They finished up the week with a 2-2-0 record with wins coming against Columbia on Tuesday and Augusta on Saturday and both losses against Gwinnett on Friday and Sunday.

This gives the Stingrays 6 points on the year for 4th in the Southern Division and 8th in the American Conference.

Matt Reid has scored ten points (6g, 4a) this week, including five on Tuesday alone.

Rookie goalie Daren Machesney had his professional debut on Friday night in a 8-3 loss to Gwinnett.

Team Notes:

T.J. McElroy (D) is on the 7 day IR after hurting his ankle in Friday's game against Gwinnett.

The Stingrays are still ranked 1st for the league in overtime with their win against Columbia on Saturday.

Going into the week, the Stingrays are ranked fourth in the Power Play.

Matt W. Reid (C) is 2nd in the league in scoring with 11 points, 1st in goals with seven, and 1st in shots with 34.

Davis Parley (G) is 1st in the league in both minutes (328) and saves (178).

Rookie Jamie Fraser ranks 4th among all rookies in the league in scoring with six points, just three behind the leader.

The Stingrays had their 3,000,000 fan walk through the door on Sunday. Congratulations to Jordan Brown.

Parley had a great game on Saturday night stopping 41 shots against the Augusta Lynx.

Reid had a total of ten points on the week including 6 goals and 4 assists.
