Texas Wildcatters News Release
Beaumont, TX (October 30, 2006) The Texas Wildcatters enter the week with a 3-1-0-0 record after a home and home sweep of the Pensacola Ice Pilots. For the first time in team history, the Wildcatters won their home opener. They defeated the Ice Pilots on Saturday night by a score of 6-4. The Catters are tied for second place in the American Conference's South Division with 6 points.

Friday, November 3 at Columbia 6:05 p.m. CT Carolina Coliseum
The Wildcatters head back out on the road as they begin a three game road trip in Columbia, SC against the Inferno. The Inferno comes into the week with a record of 2-2-1-1 for a total of 6 points. Columbia is led by Anthony Battaglia who is tied for third in the league with 10 points. Wildcatters Head Coach Malcolm Cameron was once an assistant coach with the Inferno during the 2001-02 season.
Saturday, November 4 at Gwinnett 6:35 p.m. CT at The Arena at Gwinnett Center
The Wildcatters continue their road trip as they face the defending American Conference Champion Gwinnett Gladiators. The Gladiators are tied for the best record in the league and are first in the South Division at 4-1-0-0 with 8 points. Gwinnett's Brad Schell leads the ECHL in scoring with 14 points in five games.
Sunday, November 5 at Charlotte 3:00 p.m. CT at Charlotte Bobcats Arena
The Wildcatters finish up their road trip with a Sunday afternoon game at Charlotte against the 3-1-0-0 Checkers. Charlotte is tied with the Wildcatters for second place in the South Division. Mark Lee leads Charlotte with nine points and the Checkers set a new ECHL record this season with 8 power play goals in a game.

Friday, October 27 at Pensacola 4-1 Win
The Wildcatters spoiled the home opener for the Pensacola Ice Pilots coming away with a 4-1 win in front of a crowd of 5,521 at the Pensacola Civic Center. The Wildcatters capitalized on the power play scoring all four of their goals on the man advantage. Matt Yeats made 29 saves as the Wildcatters moved to 2-1-0 on the young season. Brandin Cote scored twice for Texas, including the game winning goal, in the victory. J.F. David and Kevin Baker added goals for the Wildcatters.
Saturday, October 28 vs. Pensacola 6-4 Win
The Texas Wildcatters on the strength of six power play goals defeated the Pensacola Ice Pilots for the second time in as many nights by a score of 6-4. It was the first-ever home opening win for the Wildcatters in their brief three-year history and they did in front of a crowd of 4,050 at Ford Arena. Marco Rosa scored two goals on the evening and Leon Hayward scored the game winner at the 13:54 mark of period number three. Kevin Baker, Paul Albers and Mike Bayrack added goals for the victorious Wildcatters. Goaltender Miroslav Kopriva made 26 saves in his first start for Texas. The Wildcatters took full advantage of their power plays going 6 for 25 on the evening.

Ashley Suson of Beaumont was the winner of $100 cash prize as he was able to land his puck in the helmet at center ice during Chuck-A-Puck.
