South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The Week That Was...

The South Carolina Stingrays kicked off a four-game road trip this week with stops in Orlando and Estero, Florida to take on the Orlando Solar Bears and Florida Everblades, earning a week record of 1-2-0-0 and an overall standing of 18-18-1-6

The road trip opened Tuesday evening in the Amway Center in Orlando with the Stingrays skating to a 2-1 victory over the Solar Bears. Forward Wayne Simpson lit the lamp in the second period and defenseman Andrew Blazek added the game-winning marker in the third period to snap a season-high seven-game winless streak.

The Everblades hosted the Stingrays the following night at Germain Arena and took two East-Division points away in a 4-1 win. Forward Braden Pimm netted the lone goal for the Stingrays.

The Sunshine State leg of the road trip wrapped up Friday back at the Amway Center as the Solar Bears bounced back with a 4-0 decision.
