Kalamazoo will start the month this Wednesday, February 4th with a 7:35 p.m. encounter at the U.S. Bank Arena against the Cincinnati Cyclones. This will be the ninth and final meeting of the regular season between the teams. The K-Wings are 5-3-0-0 against the Cyclones, who being the week in third place (19-18-0-4, 42 points) in the North Division.

The K-Wings will play their lone home game of the week this Friday, February 6th for a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Fort Wayne Komets on U.S.A Curling Nationals Night. This Friday will also be a 3, 2, 1 Countdown to Fun! with $3 beer, $2 Pepsi Products and $1 hot dogs featuring Winter Sausage hot dogs and Harding's Friendly Markets buns. Kalamazoo is not only a hockey town, but it also loves curling. The K-Wings will get everyone prepped for the 2015 U.S.A. Curling Nationals, which will be coming to The Annex on February 14th-21st, with a night dedicated to the sport this Friday. February 6th will be the 10th of 16 meetings between the K-Wings and Komets this season.

Kalamazoo will begin a season-long five-game road swing this Saturday, February 7th with a 7:30 p.m. encounter against the Fort Wayne Komets. The K-Wings are 3-5-0-1 against the Komets, who begin the week tied for first place (29-10-1-2, 61 points) in the North Division.

Concluding the week on Sunday, February 8th, the K-Wings will travel to the Indiana Farmers Coliseum to square off against the Indy Fuel at 3:05 p.m. This will be the second of six meetings this season between the teams. The K-Wings are 1-0-0-0 against the Fuel, who begins the week in sixth place (15-22-4-3, 37 points) in the North Division.

Kalamazoo begins the week on a six-game (5-0-0-1) road unbeaten streak. The six-game road unbeaten streak is the longest this season for the K-Wings.
Solid Between the Pipes
Goaltender Joel Martin was spectacular between the pipes in January. Martin finished the month with a record of 5-1-0-0, a goals-against average of 1.84 and a save percentage of 0.984.
Get Shorty Lately Kalamazoo's penalty kill has been really aggressive. The K-Wings have scored five shorthanded goals this season, four of which have come in the past month and two in the last week.
The Obscure Stat of the Week
Kalamazoo finished the month of January with a record of 9-1-0-1. It was Kalamazoo's best January since the 2004-05 season, when the team went 12-4-0 in the United Hockey League.
