Road Warriors Weekly Report: Week 15
February 2, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
LAST WEEK'S RECAP
Overall Picture: The Greenville Road Warriors (25-16-3), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, capped a four-game road swing through the Sunshine State and suffered a pair of losses to the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena.
On Friday, the Road Warriors mustered up 33 shots but could not solve goaltender Allen York, who earned his league-leading fourth shutout this season in a 4-0 Everblades' victory. Florida's offense got going early when Cameron Burt scored a power-play goal just 3:52 into the first period to set the tone. Overall, the Everblades' power play struck twice on three chances, including Adam Brace's 18th goal of the season at 14:17 of the third period. Jason Missiaen made 20 saves on 24 shots for Greenville but suffered his second straight loss.
Trevor Parkes notched his team-leading 15th goal of the season on Saturday (and third in the last three games), but the Road Warriors suffered a 2-1 setback to Florida when Evan Bloodoff netted the game-winner with just 85 seconds remaining. From the blue line, Bloodoff sent an ambitious wrist shot towards the net that fluttered past goaltender Jeff Malcolm for the difference. Malcolm stopped 25 of 27 in the contest.
