February 2, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release
EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, announced a trade sending forward Kevin Harvey to the Rapid City Rush for future considerations. Harvey leaves Evansville with seven goals, 11 assists and a team high 187 penalty minutes in 41 games with the IceMen.
Harvey leads the league in major penalties with 17. His 187 penalty minutes ranks second in the ECHL. That 187 penalty minutes stands as the third highest single season total in IceMen history. Harvey ranks fourth on the IceMen's all-time PIM list.
On Nov. 29, Harvey potted the game winning goal in the IceMen's 1-0 victory over the Elmira Jackals. The veteran owned a three-game point streak from Nov.22-25 with two goals and three assists over that span.
The veteran picked up his 100th career assist in the IceMen's game against Wichita on Jan.11. He also collected the 600th PIM of his ECHL on Star Wars Night against Cincinnati.
Harvey's fighting even earned him air -time on ESPN. On. Nov.22, Harvey, dressed as the Riddler, fought Toledo's Cody Lampl, wearing Batman gear, in a video that went viral.
Harvey will begin his third stint with Rapid City after playing 27 games with the Rush last season. He will reunite with his IceMen roommate Kale Kerbashian in South Dakota.
Evansville will play the Indy Fuel on Friday Feb. 6 at 7:15 p.m. Friday's game also brings the return of Hawg night. Watch teams from around the Tri-State Area compete in a Bar-B-cue eating contest. Have a team that wants to compete? Call 812-421-GOAL to register your five person eating team.
The IceMen and the Fuel will wrap up their two game series on Saturday night in the IceMen's final home game for 21 days. It will be Heart Night at the Ford Center. The IceMen will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.
