
Springer and Stejskal ECHL Plus Performers

DULUTH, Ga. - The ECHL announced that Gladiators defensemen Eric Springer and Joe Stejskal were named the league's AMI Graphics Plus Performers of the Month for January on Monday. Stejskal and Springer were both +13 in January, leading the ECHL.
Springer, 26, was even or better in each of his 10 games played in January, including a +4 in a 7-5 win against Florida on January 23rd and a +3 in the team's 7-2 victory over the Everblades on January 17th.
Springer has seven points (one goal, six assists) and is +7 in 32 games with the Gladiators this season. Springer has played in 57 games for Gwinnett since being acquired in a trade with the Ontario Reign on 1/29/14. The native of Wrightstown, Wisconsin led the Gladiators in plus-minus in 2013-14, with a +15 rating.
Stejskal, 26, posted an even or better rating in 11 of his 13 games in January, and posted a +4 on both Jan. 17 and Jan 23 as well. The Grand Rapids, Minnesota native has 19 points (4g, 15a) and is +9 in 41 games this season, his first season with the Gladiators.
A fifth-round selection (133rd overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2007 NHL"ËEntry Draft, Stejskal has also played in 62 career games with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
The next game for the Gladiators blue-liners will be on Tuesday, February 3rd for Student Night at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. Local area students can take advantage of specially-priced Premium Level seats as Gwinnett takes on the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m.
