Stingrays, Reid Part Ways

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that Veteran forward Matt W. Reid has been suspended by the team indefinitely.

Reid who had 15 goals and 13 assists on the season in 38 games will not be in uniform for the Stingrays this weekend and is expected to be traded in the near future.

"Matt has decided to leave the Stingrays," commented Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Jared Bednar. "He is currently suspended until we are able to trade him to another ECHL team. Matt has been a tremendous asset to the Stingrays and to the community over the last four years; we wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Reid finishes his Stingrays career with 93 goals and 113 assists for 206 points. He is number eight on the Stingrays all time points list.

The Stingrays return to action tomorrow as they host the Texas Wildcatters on Faith and Fun Night. Saturday's game has a special 5 p.m. start time with a FREE post-game concert with Sonic Flood. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for Season Ticket Holders and at 4 p.m. for the general public.

The Stingrays are at home again on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. for Youth Jersey Day. The first 1,000 kids to enter the Coliseum will receive their free Youth Jersey courtesy of Hardee's, Pivotal Fitness, Palmetto Exterminators, and Duncan's Boats. It's also the first Dog Day of Winter; bring your dog out to enjoy the hockey game.
