Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
BILOXI, MS - Michael Couch scored his second goal of the season on the power play and Marek Kvapil and Stan Lascek each scored in the third period as the Mississippi Sea Wolves beat the Dayton Bombers 3-1 at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio on Friday evening.
After a scoreless first period, Couch got the Sea Wolves on the board with a power-play goal when his shot from the left point fluttered through the air after hitting a bad patch of ice and fooled Dayton goalie Rejean Beauchemin at 5:02 of the second period.
Stan Lascek gave the Sea Wolves a 2-0 lead early in the third period when he fired a wrist shot from the right wing that beat Beauchemin on the stick side at 4:05. Marek Kvapil made it 3-0 when he broke down the left wing and fired a wrist shot that got past Beauchemin and the goal frame in two different places before rolling in off of Beauchemin's left leg. Dayton would get on the board when Matt Beaudoin picked up the rebound of Mike Walsh's shot at 16:27 of the third period.
Ryan Munce made 27 saves to earn his 14th win of the season, and Mississippi went 1-for-6 on the power play
