Stingrays Receive Forward Andrew Ammon from Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, have received forward Andrew Ammon on assignment from the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Ammon, 24, begins his professional career after attending Princeton University the last four seasons totaling 61 points (33 goals, 28 assists) in 107 games. Last season, the Anchorage, Alaska, native registered career-highs in games-played (32), goals (11), assists (10), points (21) and penalty minutes (68) and served as an assistant captain. Before arriving to the Stingrays, Ammon attended the Boston Bruins (NHL) and Providence training camps. He will wear jersey No. 26 with the Stingrays.

The Stingrays kick off the 2014-15 season tonight, Friday, October 17 against the Florida Everblades at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida and continue a season-opening three-game road trip the following evening, Saturday, October 18, against the Everblades at 7:00.

The Stingrays celebrate Opening Night on Saturday, October 25 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum! The world-famous Zooperstars perform all night and the first 5,000 fans receive a Savage Law Firm 2014-15 magnet schedule.
