TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors open the 2014-15 season on the Dignity Health home ice against the Stockton Thunder. It is the first of 15 meetings between the two sides as the Condors will begin and end the season with three consecutive games against the Thunder. Bakersfield meets Stockton more than any other opponent this season.
LAST SEASON
The sixth-seeded Condors eliminated the seventh-seeded Thunder in the Western Conference Semi-Finals, four games to one.
During the regular season, Bakersfield went 6-4-0-1 against Stockton, including a 5-3-0-0 mark at Rabobank Arena.
CAPTAIN KREMYR
On Thursday, LW Jordan Kremyr was named team captain. C Jim McKenzie, LW Chase Schaber, D Nick Pageau, and RW Francis Verreault-Paul will serve as rotating alternates at home and on the road this season. Kremyr, 28, enters his fourth professional season after spending the past three seasons in Alaska, and part of last season in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Abbotsford Heat.
CONDORS NOTES
Condors Head Coach J.F. Houle makes his professional coaching debut this evening after coming to the Condors from Blainville-Boisbriand in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)... The Condors return six players from last season (Pageau, Marciano, Schaber, Joe, MacNeil and Holmberg) and brought back Verreault-Paul who was an alternate captain in 2012-13... Bakersfield has six players on the current roster currently under contract with the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons...The Condors went a perfect 2-0 in the preseason, including a 5-2 win last Friday at home against Stockton.
