Stingrays Announce Playoff Roster

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today the playoff roster for the 2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The roster has been submitted to the ECHL and is subject to verification by the league office.

"I really like our roster this season and feel that we can go far," said Head Coach Jared Bednar. "We are a team built from the net out; I don't think I've seen another team play as well defensively in the ECHL."

The 23 players that make up the Stingrays playoff roster include two goaltenders, nine defensemen and 12 forwards:

The Stingrays have won the Kelly Cup twice in their history and are one of only two teams that have two Kelly Cup Championships along with the Idaho Steelheads.

The Rays kick off the playoffs this Thursday in Charlotte. The first home playoff game will be on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum. Single game tickets are now available or you can sign up for 'Pay for Play' by calling the Stingrays office at 744-2248.
