Sting Trade Tarasevich to Battalion
January 5, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Sarnia Sting News Release
Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced this evening that the Hockey Club has acquired an 8th round pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection from the North Bay Battalion in exchange for Forward Nikita Tarasevich. The draft selection originated from the Kitchener Rangers and was acquired by the Troops through a trade on December 5th, 2018.
Tarasevich, a native of Minsk, Belarus, was previously selected in the tenth round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Through 20 games played with the Sting this season, the 18-year-old recorded 2 goals and 5 assists.
On Tarasevich's contributions to the Sting, Seca comments:
"Nikita is a player who has immersed himself in our program. A great team player, in the end we felt this move allows him to get a better opportunity to play. We wish him all the best."
