During the 2018-19 season Currie played with the Toronto Nationals major midgets and appeared in eight games with the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. In 2019-2020, Currie made the jump to the OHL and played in 54 games for the Battalion and recorded 4 goals and 7 assists for 11 points on his rookie season. This season Currie has found his stroke, he has played in 28 games with the Battalion and has scored 9 goals and recorded 8 assists for 17 points on the season. Currie has appeared on both the powerplay and penalty kill for the Battalion with 2 of his goals coming on the powerplay and another 2 shorthanded.

Bill Bowler spoke on the trade.

"Currie is a versatile forward with grit and he can score and we are excited to add that to our club."

Currie spoke on the trade.

"It feels good, I am really excited and proud to be a Spitfire." Currie said. "I played with Christopoulos with North Bay and Don Mills and I have worked out with DeAngelis over the summer."

Welcome to Windsor, Josh!

The Spitfires would like to thank Kyle and Grayson for their time here in Windsor and wish them all the best with the Battalion.
