Sarnia Sting News Release

Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club had the 4th overall selection in the CHL Import Draft conducted on Wednesday.

Sting GM Alan Millar used the pick to select Tomas Pospisil a right-winger who split time last season playing in both the junior and professional ranks for Trinec, a club team in the Czech Repulic.

Impressively enough Pospisil played in 14 games with the professional club, which like every league in Europe this past season was bolstered by the NHL lockout. Pospisil was actually a teammate of long time Ottawa Senator Radek Bonk.

Pospisil also represented his country playing in the IIHF World Under 18 Championships this past April, helping the host Czech's earn a fourth place finish overall.

Pospisil is the 15th ranked skater amongst all European born players by NHL Central Scouting for the 2005 Entry Draft.
