
IceDogs take Osala

Mississauga, ON - With the 16th overall pick in the 2005 CHL Import Draft, the Mississauga IceDogs selected power forward Oskar Osala ('87) from Sport Vaasa (Mestis) Men's 2nd Division.
Osala, the native of Vaasa, Finland stands 6'3 and weighs in at 217 pounds. The left-handed shooter was a member of the 2005 Under-18 Finnish National Team and played at the 5 Nations Cup as well as the Under-18 World Championship. He is a top ranked prospect for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
ISS notes that he an aggressive player with above average skating abilities and will do what it takes to win at both ends. He has good speed combined with strength and agility and will add a physical presence to the IceDogs lineup.
The IceDogs acquired the 16th overall pick in the Import Draft from the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for IceDogs forward Bradley Snetsinger.
