
Stepp assigned to Gwinnett from NHL Atlanta

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Joel Stepp has been assigned to the Gladiators from their NHL affiliate, the Atlanta Thrashers.
Stepp has split time this season between the Augusta Lynx and the Portland Pirates of the AHL. In 38 games this season with Augusta, Stepp has posted 13 goals and 26 assists for 39 points while he has recorded 2 goals and an assist in 17 games with the Pirates this season.
Drafted in the 3rd round, 69th overall in the 2001 NHL draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Stepp played five season with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League before turning pro.
Stepp spent the last two seasons in the AHL with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks where he appeared in a combined 128 games posting 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.
Atlanta acquired Stepp in a trade with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in exchange for goaltender Jani Hurme today.
The Gwinnett Gladiators continue the 2005-06 ECHL season on the road on Friday, March 3rd as they travel to Columbia to take on the Inferno at 7:30 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties. The Gladiators play all 36 home games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth and are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.
