Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx announced today that defenseman Lee Jacobson has been recalled to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.

The 25-year-old blueliner is currently tied for second among all ECHL defensemen in majors with 13 on the season. The 6-4, 230 lb. Jacobson has also collected a goal and four points to go with 115 minutes in penalties in 43 games this season. The Chicago, Ill. native is in his third year of pro, having taken the 2003-04 season off to box professionally, where he went 6-0 before returning to hockey last season.

"Lee will bring an element of toughness to Lowell," said Lynx head coach and director of hockey operations Bob Ferguson. "He has shown he's not afraid of anyone and is capable of handling himself accordingly."

Jacobson becomes the second Lynx to head to Lowell this year, with Nicolas Corbeil seeing time with the club earlier in the season.

Augusta gets back to action on Saturday night with their only game of the weekend coming in Columbia, SC against the Inferno. Slated for a 7:30 pm start, all Lynx season ticket holders receive $3 off tickets at the Inferno box office. Radio coverage on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 will start one half-hour before faceoff with the Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show.
