Inferno Acquire Right Wing/Hurme Traded

COLUMBIA, SC (March 1, 2006) - The Columbia Inferno announce they have acquired right-winger Ryan Gale from the Alaska Aces in exchange for cash.

Gale, 5'11, 180 lbs. St. Catharines, Ontario native entered his rookie season splitting time with the Toledo Storm and the Alaska Aces. During his time with Toledo, he posted three assists in 15 games and 19 penalty minutes. He played 26 games with the Aces, scoring four goals and two assists with 14 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning professional, Gale spent his collegiate career with Niagara University where he had a stellar senior year posting 38 points (24g-14a) in 36 games.

The Inferno hosts the Gwinnett Gladiators on Friday, March 3rd and the Augusta Lynx on Saturday, March 4th both at 7:30pm. Tickets are available by calling 251-2222 or visiting the Carolina Coliseum Box Office.

OTHER INFERNO NEWS: The Atlanta Thrashers traded goaltender Jani Hurme to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks today. Anaheim assigned Hurme to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
