Steelheads tops in ECHL

The Idaho Steelheads, who lead the ECHL with a 7-1 record, will look to keep their winning streak alive at Qwest Arena this Friday, Saturday and Sunday against Stockton. After a perfect three-game, home opening series against the Utah Grizzlies last weekend, Idaho has gathered 14 of a possible 16 points on the young 2006-07 season. Idaho will have its work cut out for it though, as the Stockton Thunder are undefeated and a perfect 5-0 on their season.

Teaming Up with the Boise Rescue Mission

- Coat Drive: More than 600 coats were collected for the Boise Rescue Mission on Opening Night thanks to the generosity of Steelheads fans. Thanks also to Westco Martinizing and Dry Cleaning for cleaning the coats, and to the local news media for helping us get the word out!

Several Steelheads players will be at the Nampa Lighthouse Rescue Mission from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, November 16th (472 Caldwell Blvd.) to distribute the coats.

- Turkey Dinner Drive: The Steelheads will be collecting all the fixins' for Thanksgiving Dinner during this Friday's and Saturday's games. Every fan who makes a donation - turkey, boxed stuffing, canned vegetables, etc. - will receive a two-for-one coupon for the Sunday, November 12th game. The food will be distributed by the Rescue Mission to families in need.

- Forward Marty Flichel (3g-0a) as Player of the Week, and

Goaltender Steve Silverthorn (3-0-0; 2.59goals-against-average; .928 save percentage).

Goaltender Steve Silverthorn (7-0-0) has won seven straight decisions this season, while going 17-3-0 in his last 20 decisions since 2005-06 Marty Flichel has a season-long, eight-game point streak (5g-5a). Flichel started last season with an eight-game scoring streak (13 points) Derek Nesbitt has at least one point in five straight matches, netting four goals and five assists in that span

Steelheads are 3-0-0 on home ice this season and 11-1-0 in their last 12 home games dating back to last season

Practice

The Steelheads will practice at Qwest Arena Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am. Practices are free and open to the public and media.
