Idaho Steelheads News Release
(Boise, ID) - The ECHL's Idaho Steelheads kick off their final homestand of the regular season on Wednesday night and have invited in some community partners to help them send it off in style.
Friday night, March 26, will be "Curb It" and "Go On" Night with the Idaho Steelheads. The first 500 fans to bring plastic grocery bags to Qwest Arena on Friday night will receive a reusable bag, courtesy of Allied Waste. There will be "Curb It" representatives on hand with information on how Steelheads fans can help keep Boise a sustainable and eco-friendly community. Curb It is the city of Boise's automated trash and no-sort recycling program, along with household hazardous waste, waste reduction and other solid waste programs.
The "Go On Idaho" campaign is an initiative of the JA and Kathryn Albertson Foundation to boost enrollment in post-secondary education in the state of Idaho. During the game, Go On Idaho will host a text contest that will give fans an opportunity to learn more about the Go On campaign as well as win prizes.
Saturday, March 27, is Boise Hawks Night with the Idaho Steelheads. The Hawks will be on hand to distribute schedule magnets for their upcoming minor-league baseball season as the two organizations work together to provide top-notch, affordable entertainment to sports fans in the Treasure Valley. Steelheads fans will also have the opportunity to learn about summer ticket plans at the ballpark with the Hawks.
"We're excited to have good community partners like Allied Waste, the City of Boise, the Go On Idaho campaign, and the Boise Hawks out to our games this weekend," team president Eric Trapp said. "We're all working together to keep this one of the best places in the country to live."
The Steelheads host their final homestand of the week this week when the team plays Victoria on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Tickets are available at the Qwest Arena box office or by calling 208.331.TIXS. This weekend is your last chance to enter the Idaho Lottery Second Chance Drawing where you can win a 12-person suite to a Steelheads playoff game or 300 scratch-off tickets or a prize pack from Moxie Java. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
