
Hotham Loaned to Rochester

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush in coordination with head coach Malcolm Cameron have announced that defenseman Scott Hotham has been loaned to the Rochester Americans and forwards Dominic Osman and Mathieu Roy have been placed on the injured reserve. Defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk has been transferred from the seven-day injured reserve to the 21-day IR.
Hotham, 25, returned to the Everblades for just one game on Tuesday night in Charlotte. The promotion to the Amerks is his second in less than a month. The Barrie, Ontario native has appeared in four games with the Rochester this season and scored two goals and recorded a minor penalty. Hotham has appeared in 61 games with Florida this season and has five markers and 26 assists for 31 points and 50 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman ranks T1st in power-play assists (18) among rookies and T3rd in power-play points (22). He also ranks third amongst ECHL defenseman in power-play assists (18).
Osman, 28, was acquired from Toledo on February 9, 2010 in a three-way trade for forward Jordan Morrison (Toledo and Johnstown). In 16 games with Florida he has averaged nearly a point a game (6-713) including a hat trick on March 5 in a 7-5 victory over Gwinnett. In 47 appearances with Toledo, the Dearborn, Michigan native scored 12 goals and 22 points with 39 penalty minutes. Osman has been placed on the three-day injured reserve.
Roy, 23, suffered an upper body injury on Tuesday night in the 'Blades 6-2 loss to Charlotte. The Amos, Quebec native has 13 goals and 13 assists with 83 minutes in penalties in 51 games played this season. Roy has been placed on the seven-day injured reserve list.
The Florida Everblades and Charlotte Checkers meet for the final time ever in the regular season in Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Florida then travels to Gwinnett to battle the Gladiators on Saturday and Sunday at The Arena at the Gwinnett Center.
