
Steelheads Announce Training Camp and Exhibition Games

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today they will open their 2003-04 training camp on Sunday, October 5th in McCall, Idaho at the Manchester Ice and Event Centre. All Steelheads practices and intrasquad games will be open to the public.
The team will also play three pre-season exhibition games against the ECHL expansion team, Texas Wildcatters coached by former WCHL vice-president, and WCHL Tacoma Sabercats head coach (2000-01), Robert Dirk.
The first of the exhibition games will be played at the 600-seat Manchester Ice & Event Centre on Wednesday, October 8th at 7:05 p.m. The second and third games will be played at the Bank of America Centre in Boise on Friday, October 10th and Saturday, October 11th, each starting at 7:05 p.m.
Idaho's head coach John Olver said, "We are excited to bring our camp to McCall this year, and to have the opportunity to train and play at such a first-class facility like the Manchester Centre. The facility offers an NHL size rink, great locker rooms and concessions for fans. We are also happy to have the chance to bring Steelheads hockey to our fans in Valley County and hope everybody has a chance to come out to meet the team."
Ron Sabala, founder and spokesperson for the Manchester Ice and Event Centre said, "We are very pleased that the Steelheads have chosen our new ice facility to train at this fall. The rink was built to accommodate these types of events. The Steelheads presence at the rink will be a great asset to the community of McCall."
The team's practice times in McCall are on October 5th from 9:00-11:45 a.m., and 7:00-9:15 p.m. On October 6th and 7th they will practice from 9:00-11:45 a.m., and will hold intrasquad games from 7:00-10:00 p.m. each night.
Exhibition game tickets at the Manchester Centre will be $10, and practice tickets will be $4 (adults) and $3 (children). Tickets are available by calling 208-634-3570.
Game tickets at the Bank of America Centre will be $10.00 and $5.00 per seat and will be available on September 17th by calling the Bank of America Centre Box Office, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or by logging on to www.idahotickets.com.
